2 yearsI received a call from a man who said he was calling on behalf of BT. He told me that in the next few days, BT engineers would be swapping out the old copper wiring to my house with new fibre optic cables. He then offered a discount on my bill and said I’d need a new BT router for it to work. To send the equipment, he wanted my credit card details. To ‘prove’ he was genuine, he sent a four-digit code to my mobile. The more we spoke, the fishier he sounded and he started to get pushy, which made me end the call.
