A rather insistent chap called me up today, claiming to represent an energy efficiency advisory service. He wanted me to fill out a brief survey on energy efficiency, but I politely declined. I made it quite clear that I didn’t wish to be contacted again.

Got a call from someone with a very English accent, asking if I was Mr (my name). She said she was from the 'energy advice centre' and wanted to check if I was eligible for any government grants. I barely had a chance to speak, and when I kept asking "who is this?" for the third time, she just ended the call.

I received a call around midday today from a woman claiming to represent an energy company, or at least that's how it appeared. She claimed to be reaching out to see if I could benefit from any assistance. When I expressed my disinterest, she stubbornly insisted that it would merely take a few minutes of my time to respond to some questions. However, the moment I mentioned that I wouldn’t be eligible for any support, she promptly vanished from the conversation. Is it just me, or are these numbers handed out by BT without much care? I’m inundated with scam calls of all kinds lately!

Got a call from 01295-705061 but when I answered and said hello, there was no reply and it just hung up after around 10 seconds. Sounds like it was one of those auto dialers to me. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

There isn't any scheme from the government right now for replacing windows or doors, nor do they provide any sort of scrappage payment. So if someone’s trying to get you to buy thinking you’ll save because of a government allowance or scrappage deal, it’s not actually true.

Got a call from a bloke speaking English claiming to be from the Energy Advice Centre. He started asking me a load of questions. I told him I wasn’t interested and to stop ringing me back.
