I received a call from a lady with an Asian accent, purporting to be from Microsoft Technical Support. She insisted there were security problems with my computer. However, it quickly became apparent that she was attempting to infiltrate my system and urged me to install a specific application, which seemed highly suspicious.

On 7th December 2021, I got a call from an Asian woman claiming to represent Microsoft. She told me there was an issue with my PC. After a couple of minutes of her explaining the “problem,” she wanted remote access to my computer to fix it, saying it wouldn’t cost me a penny. I asked where she was ringing from and she gave me a postcode - 196 1W9. She was a bit hesitant but eventually mentioned an address in Thames Valley Park, Reading, which matched the postcode. The catch? The phone number she used had the area code for Boston. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.
