Normally I ignore calls from unknown numbers, but I was expecting to hear from my landlord so I thought it might be them. A bloke with a South Asian accent greeted me with a "Good morning ma’am, how are you today?" I asked if it was something urgent since I was working and waiting for that specific call. Then he just started yelling, "Why on earth did you even pick up then?" I hung up straight away and blocked the number after that.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she was from EE, pushing some kind of discount for my existing contract. When I quietened down and looked up the number, she got a bit annoyed. Told her if she was really from EE, she’d see on her end I’ve no contract and wasn’t bothered by whatever she was selling.

It's just a spammer. They hang up as soon as you say something, probably making sure the number is active so they can call again later.
