Today I got a phone call from a guy claiming to be with British Telecom. He said someone in California was using my IP for illegal stuff and that they could sort it out if I let them access my computer. Obviously, I said no. The number he called me from was 01295 176234.

This number 01295176234 ringed me up saying they were with BT and that someone had hacked into my internet account. They asked me to get on my computer so they could help me block the intruder. But then they started asking for info, which made me think it was a scam. I told them I’d call my internet provider myself and hung up. They even tried to find out my bank's name!
