I got a call from a man who spoke broken English, claiming there was a problem with my internet. He was in a loud place without a proper headset, so it was tough to understand each other. He told me to switch on my PC so he could investigate. He said someone had been using my connection between midnight and around 4.30am. When I asked to speak to his supervisor, he just told me to “go f@ck yourself” and hung up. Honestly, these kinds of calls can be really distressing, especially for more vulnerable folks. Plus, I had a call like this yesterday from the number 01254 616494.

Got a call from someone saying they were with BT, said my internet was being spoofed or summat. Their English weren’t great, sounded like a call centre somewhere. When I asked ‘em for my account number, they just ended the call straight away!

some1 said they were from bt but their english was really bad so i just ended the call

I got two calls from this number today. When I picked up, there was no one speaking on the other side, just silence. Looks like they’re just guessing numbers to see if anyone responds. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.
