I strongly advise against returning any calls from this number, regardless of what they might say. They may try to reach you through calls or messages pleading for a call back. Just ignore them! It’s a complete scam and has been verified by both the DWP and the local police fraud unit. Stay safe and steer clear!

I received a voicemail from this number, claiming to be urgent communication from the DWP. But trust me, they are most definitely NOT! I took the precaution of calling the official DWP customer service line, and they categorically stated that this number is unfamiliar to them and is not in use by their establishment. It’s clearly a scam, and they've advised me to report it to the Police. I’ve since been in touch with the Fraud squad, and they have unequivocally confirmed it’s a fraudulent scheme! I urge everyone to exercise caution and verify any requests for contact through the official channels before engaging with these con artists. If we all remain vigilant and collaborate, we shall eventually bring these deceitful individuals to justice. They may think they’re clever, but we're far from gullible! Together, we’ll tighten the noose on them!

Following up on my previous comment, I received a rather suspicious message prompting me to ring a number and get in touch with a certain Lyndsay Tate from the DWP. Fortunately, I tend to keep my wits about me, and it didn't take long for me to spot the glaring warning sign: they wanted me to call a landline at 01294 406076 instead of the standard DWP helpline, which typically isn’t a landline! I've since reported this to both the DWP and the local authorities. I urge everyone to remain vigilant and steer clear of these fraudulent calls. Always verify messages by using the official contact numbers rather than the dodgy ones they provide. Stay sharp, stay safe, and don’t let these scammers catch you off guard!

I received a voicemail from someone claiming to be Lynsey Tate with the DWP, urging me to get in touch. When I attempted to call the number back, it just looped endlessly before disconnecting-no one ever picked up!

So, I decided to reach out to the DWP's customer service myself. They promptly confirmed that they hadn’t attempted to contact me at all. Furthermore, they made it abundantly clear that they never ask for callbacks to landline numbers like the one I was given, which made it obvious to them that it’s a scam!

They suggested I file a report with the police, which I did, and they echoed the scam warning, noting several other similar reports.

Please remain vigilant and cautious-always verify with the DWP directly before sharing any personal information with potential fraudsters!
