A nuisance caller picked up, then abruptly ended the call without any explanation.

I inquired, “Which part of the world are you ringing me from?” To which she replied, “I’m calling from Sydney.” Then I said, “Are you sure it’s appropriate to call me from down under, given that I’m registered on the do not call list?” She mumbled a sort of half-hearted apology before abruptly ending the call.
