So, I got a call on the 11th of April from someone claiming to be Ray Miller from BT Openreach, saying they were upgrading my broadband speed. The guy had an Indian accent which threw me off a bit. Since I’m expecting an upgrade from EE soon, I nearly fell for it. He went on about channels and stuff. Luckily, I ended the call pretty fast. He was really pushy and kept ringing me back a few times after that.

Got a call that was completely silent, just dead air, and then out of nowhere this blasted recorded voice saying 'Goodbye'. Honestly, I can't stand these types of calls anymore, they should be banned outright. So annoying!

I encountered a right chancer who got a bit cheeky when I mentioned that we don't possess a fancy bit router!

Got a call from some bloke abroad saying my router had problems. He asked how many lights were showing, I said about 400, he wanted to know how many routers we got, I told him 20. After that I told him to just jog on, he seriously needs to fix his own mess.

Just got a silent call a moment ago. Earlier today, I had a phone call from someone claiming to be from Openreach, but since I'm with Virgin, I ended the call straight away. Isn't that against the law? I'm on the TPS.

He rang me up asking if I was Mrs something, but only used half my surname. I said no straight away cause it felt like one of those cold calls. Then, out of nowhere, he started calling me a liar and somehow knew my exact address. He swore at me, said he'd break all my bones and put a curse on me. He kept shouting and getting more hostile until I finally ended the call. Normally I’m not easily bothered, but knowing he’s got my address has me a bit on edge.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Openreach, saying there was an issue with my router. I told her nothing was wrong and she just cut me off. I've had similar calls before from people pretending to be BT, saying my broadband had issues. I'm not even a BT customer, so it was clear they were trying to scam me. I always just end those calls straight away.

I’ve had a number of calls from this particular number today, and three yesterday. Each time I answer, the line goes silent. It's really quite disconcerting. The calls seem to come in about an hour apart.

My elderly mum has been getting pretty stressed out lately because a third different number has called her in the past few weeks, all saying there’s some issue with her internet and that it’s about to be disconnected. They keep telling her it’s from BT, but it all sounds a bit dodgy to me.

I’ve had a few calls recently from people saying there’s an issue with my computer. They claimed to be from Openreach, but from what I know, Openreach don’t usually call customers directly - they only ring on behalf of the broadband company. Seems a bit fishy to me.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Openreach, about my internet. I told them I don’t use BT for internet, and they said everything is done through Openreach anyway. Then the line just cut off. About three hours later, they rang again from the same number but there was no sound when I answered.

I got a call from a guy with a thick accent claiming to be from BT Openreach. My missus picked up and after a bit of chat, she told him she was 90 and didn’t even own a computer. He then said she didn’t sound that old and insisted she turn on her computer. She replied saying she didn’t have one and asked what a router was when he brought up changing the router number. After that, she ended the call. That’s yet another dodgy number sent straight to our junk folder - that makes four today alone!

So these folks claimed they were from BT Openreach or something, but honestly, it seemed like a scam. They wanted me to log into my computer, supposedly to help, but they didn’t have any proper BT info that a genuine rep would know if you’re an actual customer. I just told them I was recording the call, which made them back off pretty quick. Definitely don’t give out any personal stuff to random callers like that!

Got a call from this number out of the blue. Wasn’t expecting it and had no idea who they were. Turns out it was just a telemarketer trying to sell something. A bit annoying but nothing major. Just wish people would stop calling me out of nowhere!

Has anyone else had a suspicious call from this number? I recently got a call from a bloke with a very English sounding name, but his accent was clearly foreign. The connection was patchy and it took him a while to say anything, then he claimed to be ringing from BT. Apparently there was "strange activity" on my phone line or something along those lines. I told him I wasn’t buying it and warned that if he or anyone else called from that number again, I’d be reporting it to the cops. Then I cut off the call straight away.
