Today my other half got caught out because the bloke on the line sounded really sincere and like he knew what he was talking about. He even gave him access to his computer! When I got back I was fuming and told him straight away it was a total con. Now the poor laptop needs sorting from all the damage. And to top it off, this number has rang us 6 times in just the last couple of hours!

Got a call for the third time in as many days from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be from Norton Security. I asked straight away how Gary was, and he sounded a bit lost. I told him Gary works in his department and asked how he's doing. He went on about Norton stuff, so I cut in and asked if Gary’s wife had had the baby yet. There was a bit of silence, then he carried on with his sales pitch. I asked again, and this time he said no. I told him she must be running late and asked if he could pass on my best wishes to Gary, then I ended the call.

I used BT Call Bar to block the number and it only tried calling me one more time after that. When they called again, a message said I didn't want to talk to them so they should just hang up. After blocking, the phone doesn't ring if they call again - instead, the blocked calls just appear on the display quietly.

This number has called me loads over the past few days. I actually heard the same guy’s voice before - sounds Asian - from a different number earlier the same day, 01245 786321. He was saying he represented Microsoft. Total scam, no doubt about it! It really puzzles me why BT can’t do anything about stopping these annoying calls once and for all.

Loads of calls have come through from this number, with the person claiming to be from Norton Anti Virus, insisting my computer's got an issue and they're there to fix it. I've tried a few different ways to mess with them - sometimes acting like an elderly lady (which I am, but I’m no fool and can spot a scam a mile off!). I let them walk me through their supposed fix but just before they take control of my computer, I ask, "So, this is when you get access to my PC, right?" They always seem caught off guard and then disappear for some time.

Before this, I’ve had similar ones pretending to be from BT or Norton Antivirus. The best thing is just to give ’em a bit of a mouthful (nicely, mind!) and they tend to bugger off. This number has started bugging me again after being silent for quite some time, at least as far as I know. It’s just another bunch of scammers trying to sneak into your computer. Don’t panic tho, if you pick up and there’s someone there, tell them off however you like! Just don’t call back on your own, it’s a waste of time and you’ll only end up annoyed.

Some bloke named David, who had an accent, rang me up, worrying about my internet being used by "others" and said unless I let him fix it and get rid of some "viruses" on my PC, I wouldn’t be online anymore. I just mess around, giving them tiny bits of wrong info (if I can make out what they're saying through their thick accents) and keep the chat going till they get frustrated, swear at me and eventually hang up. Then I just take it as a little victory.

Got two calls today, 10th May. The second one I got put through to someone supposed to be a "supervisor" from BT’s computer department, saying they were checking my broadband for a virus. When I asked them for a contact number to ring back, the call just dropped. Definitely a scam, watch out!

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT, telling me my broadband was running slow. I played along just to see where it was heading. After I nodded to the slow internet bit, they transferred me to another guy. This second bloke got pretty frustrated when I didn’t give clear answers and then bailed once he understood he couldn't get into my PC to ‘fix’ it. He just ended the call. Maybe those few minutes he wasted means someone else dodged a bullet!
