I picked up the phone at about 10:38 in the morning because the number looked like a local landline, one I thought I recognised. The caller turned out to be an automated female voice, saying she was from Ofcom and warned that my line had been compromised by hackers. She told me to press 1 to connect to BT or something like that. Then suddenly the call just dropped. It felt pretty dodgy, especially as the number pretended to be familiar to catch you out. Definitely looks like just another scam - watch out!
