It’s rather rudimentary, to say the least, yet I suppose if even one gullible soul is taken in, it makes it worthwhile for these deceitful characters, likely operating from abroad. My phone number is ex-directory, meaning very few people have it, so this blatant case of random dialling is evident. Moreover, I can assure you that neither my bank nor my card issuers would ever contact me from a Crawley number, considering I reside a good 150 miles away!
