I received a rather unexpected call the other day. Although I did pick up, I was greeted by a woman with a distinctly foreign accent. She claimed to be from the Marketing Department based in London and was hoping to get me to take part in a brief survey regarding some training programme. I politely turned her down, explaining that I simply had no interest and was short on time. Yet, she insisted rather irritably that it wouldn’t demand much of my attention. When I pressed her for the company name, she just repeated that she was from the Marketing Department in London. At that point, I decided enough was enough, hung up, and promptly blocked that number.

I received a rather peculiar phone call earlier today, on the 17th of May, 2021, at precisely 10:21 in the morning. The caller appeared to be familiar with my name and even mentioned my country, yet he didn’t clarify the purpose of his call. From what I could gather, he had an Indian phone number, which made the whole situation feel quite dodgy. Quite troubling, if you ask me.
