The person called, asked if I was there by my name, and then just disconnected.

They rang me up and somehow knew my name right away. I told them I hadn’t said who I was, but I did ask who they were and what the call was about. Then, out of nowhere, they asked if I had a will, which I said was none of their business. They claimed they were just trying to be helpful. I quickly reminded them that cold calling isn’t allowed here in the UK. After that, they said sorry and asked if I wanted my number taken off their list, to which I said yes, definitely. Honestly, it’s best not to bother speaking to these people at all.

Blimey, how on earth do these people keep finding my number? I just had a conversation with some firm that was pushing their will-writing services. The caller went straight in, asking if I had arranged power of attorney and whether I had given any thought to my funeral costs. It felt rather unsettling, to say the least!

After seeing what others have said, I noticed I've been getting calls from numbers ending in 184 and 180 too. Funny enough, these calls started about a month after my mum’s funeral, which I'd arranged since she had a prepaid plan. They hang up as soon as I pick up and never bother to leave a voicemail. Makes me wonder what they want.

Been getting calls non-stop all day, like yesterday they called at least seven times. When you pick up, they just hang up after a second or two. They used to call from 01292800180 but now they’re switching to 01292800184. Best thing to do is just block the number.

I just hit 50 and was trying to stay positive, but honestly, these questions felt a bit much. If you’re around my age or younger, I’d say just don’t bother answering.
