They tried to coax my banking information under the pretext of needing it to transfer supposed compensation from a road incident. It's all a ruse to pilfer your financial details!

Some bloke called me, goin on about being in a car crash or whatever. Thing is, I don’t even have a car, so no idea what he was on about. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call saying I’d been in a car crash that wasn’t my fault. As soon as I said I hadn’t, they just cut off. Pretty sure it was just a recorded message trying to trick me.

I got a call from a man with an African accent, he said his name was George and claimed to be calling from some company, maybe a website, but I couldn’t quite make out the name - something like "evil news" or similar. I’ve never heard of it or signed up for anything related. He started asking for personal and bank details, which felt really dodgy. I told him I was hanging up and just ended the call. Definitely felt like one of those phishing schemes to me.

Has anyone picked up when this number rings? I noticed I missed a couple of calls from it, maybe it’s one of those robocall centres just checking if the number is active? I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise and there’s no voicemail either. I looked online for any details but didn’t find anything useful. Thinking about calling back but wanna be sure who it is first. Anyone got a clue?
