Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent saying he's from BT, offering to sort out my broadband issues. I straight up told him he was trying to scam me and that he was wasting his time. Surprisingly, he kept going and didn’t hang up, which was odd. I asked him for a contact number to get back to him, and he said his name was ‘Parka’ and gave me the number 0203 329906. Obviously, that’s not a proper BT number - 0203 is easy to buy and forward for a small monthly fee. Felt good to have wasted about 10 minutes of their time instead!

Got a call from a guy speaking with an Asian accent, telling me he was from BT. He warned that my internet would be down for three days. When I asked for more info, he asked if I'd seen an email they'd supposedly sent. I told him the number didn't seem like it belonged to BT, and he quickly replied it was from the tech support team. I got a call from a person saying they were from BT, warning me that my internet was about to be disconnected soon. They told me to sit at my computer and find the ctrl key to sort it out. They didn’t have any of my personal info like my name or address. It was clear they were trying to scam me, so I just ended the call and contacted the official BT. They actually arranged this free service that stops scam calls from reaching me. I reckon they were trying to get access to my computer somehow.

This morning I got a call that was clearly from abroad, the line was crackly and I couldn’t catch the caller’s name or any ID. A woman claimed there was an issue with our BT internet service. Looks like they’re having a hectic day! My caller ID flashed 'International' with the number 01292482049. Since I block all international calls automatically, this one caught my eye. I answered, but there was complete silence. I quickly hit the button to block the number for good. I was actually hoping for a bit of fun having a go at what I thought was a scammer, but no such luck this time.

Got a call from a bloke saying he was ringing from BT about some virus problem with my internet. I told him I don't even have BT broadband, but he insisted my connection was at risk anyway. I asked him a couple more times which company he was with and he kept saying British Telecommunications. I told him we get loads of calls like this, folks pretending to be Microsoft or whatnot, saying there's an issue with the PC or software. I told him if he’s really from BT he should send it in writing. Using "BT" like that could really trick people who aren't so savvy. Watch out!

I’ve had calls from these lot a couple of times now, always asking me to switch on my computer. I tell them to hold on while I 'go get it', but really I’m just doing the washing up or putting some washing on. They keep checking if the computer’s on yet, and I keep saying I can't find the cable or plug anywhere, then ask if they can see it from their end. After a bit, they just give up on the silly woman and end the call.

Im so fed up with these scammers trying to con folks. This number keeps getting reported and is based in Gwent, Wales. You'd think BT would just block it or look into it properly by now. It feels like the police should step in too, since they’re pretending to be from BT.

This morning, I got two calls that seemed a bit dodgy. First, a bloke with an Asian accent said my internet was going to be down for 3 weeks and claimed he was from BT. When I asked for some form of ID, he just hung up on me. Then, not even 15 minutes later, a woman called with a similar story about my internet being infected. I told her I wasn’t buying it and questioned if she really worked for BT. She said her name was Michelle Hayden and gave me the number 02031297026. I checked the number using 1471 and the actual caller ID showed 01292482049. I’ve passed all this onto BT and they’ve marked the number as spam. I’m having BT Protect set up tomorrow because these calls are just a massive pain.

When lunchtime rolls around, I usually get these rubbish calls from Indian scammers. Honestly, it's mostly just some weird buzzing noise, no proper words or anything that made sense at all. Absolute rubbish.

Some bloke named John rang me about 14 times today, supposedly from BT in Reading, though I’m not convinced. He claimed there was a server issue and told me to restart my computer. I told him I didn’t believe he was really from BT. Then he snapped, “Listen here, idiot! Got a call earlier today around 10.22am from a bloke with an Asian accent. He claimed my broadband was going to be cut off because it was "contaminated," which instantly seemed dodgy to me. When I asked which company he represented, he said BT. I told him I’d ring BT myself because I didn’t buy a word of it. Then he started asking for my numbers - I have no clue what numbers he meant. So I just ended the call. I’m pretty hard of seeing and couldn’t catch the number on my phone at first, but after dialing 1471 I got the details. Last month, I had another call about my taxes; my daughter, who was visiting from Canada, answered and reported it to the police. I’m not in the best shape and these kinds of calls are really distressing. Does anyone know how I can put an end to these nuisance calls?
