Had a rather dodgy call from a supposed bank today. A mechanical voice chimed in right after I picked up, claiming there were some suspicious transactions connected to my account. Then they prompted me to press 1 for more information. Quite clearly a scam, if you ask me!

About half an hour apart, I got two calls on my home phone with a recorded message saying they were from Visa about dodgy stuff happening on my Amazon account - which I don’t even use. The first call came from 01865880431, so I blocked that number straight away. Then another very similar message popped up from 01292260957, so I blocked that number too.

I got calls from a number starting with 309 pretending to be from Amazon, then another one about some international money transfer for 1000. Pretty sure both were sketchy.

As soon as I picked up, there was an automated voice. I think it was a bank scam trying to trick me. The message said something about suspicious activity on my card and asked me to press 1 to confirm or 2 to talk to someone from their team. Pretty dodgy if you ask me!
