They only had my first name, nothing else. Told me they could cut down my debt by like 70%, but when I told them I don’t owe a single person anything and I don’t even have a credit card, they basically accused me of lying. Which is totally true, by the way.

I received an unsolicited call at half past one this past Monday, 11th October. My phone flagged it as a potential spam, prompting me to ignore it. I’m thoroughly exasperated by the sheer volume of these intrusive calls. It’s high time the government took stronger action to clamp down on such dishonest practices and the ongoing harassment we face from telemarketers.

somebody rang me claiming to be from a national debt helpline and said i could legally wipe out around 70 to 80 percent of my debts. being a licensed insolvency practitioner myself, and with no debts of my own, i found it quite suspicious and wanted to hear exactly what they were telling people, since there are strict rules about promoting these services. but as soon as i asked some questions, they just ended the call immediately! if you’re struggling with debt, please seek help from a qualified professional, not shady groups like this.

Whenever a number pops up that I'm not familiar with, I simply let it ring and then have a quick Google search to see what's what. I reckon it’s a rather wise approach-if it turns out to be legitimate, I can always give them a ring back later.

Received a call from some folks claiming to be from a debt collection agency. They threatened me, saying if I didn’t cough up a hefty sum or arrange a payment plan posthaste, they’d be dispatching bailiffs to my doorstep due to missed loan repayments with my bank. So, I reached out to my bank for clarity, and it turns out they assured me that all my payments are up to date and there’s no talk of sending my account to any debt collectors. What a dodgy setup! Clearly, it’s just a scam.
