I got a call from someone claiming to be with BT OpenReach saying there was an issue with my phone line. Thing is, I hadn’t noticed any problems and hadn’t reported anything. The caller insisted he needed to link a BT server to my laptop to run some checks. I told him that sounded risky and asked for his number so I could ring him later. He said he got why I was worried but insisted that was the only way to find the fault.
