Someone rang me saying they were from BT, telling me there was an issue with my internet connection, but it sounded a bit dodgy to me.

some bloke rang claiming to be from bt openreach, saying there was an issue with my phone line. i hadn’t noticed any problems nor reported anything. he tried to tell me he needed to link a bt server to my laptop to do some checks. i told him that sounded dodgy and asked for his number so i could ring him later. he said he got why i was worried but insisted it was the only way to find the fault.
