Got a call from a number close to 01290 873251, saying they were from BT Openreach. They told me there were some weird "activities" happening on my broadband. When I asked for their number to ring them back, they just cut off the call. Definitely looks like a scam to me.

My 87 year old mum got a call from this number. She couldn’t quite catch the details because it was full of technical jargon that flew right over her head. From what she told me, it sounded like one of those scams about internet IP addresses. Luckily, she hung up straight away and used 1471 to find the number, which is how I got it. I tried calling back but got nothing, no shock there. I honestly can’t see what they hope to gain other than upsetting elderly folks who are already vulnerable.

Got a weird call from an American lady's automated voice warning me my IP address was hacked or something. She said if I didn’t ring their tech support to fix it, they’d cut off my internet in a day. Total scam, obviously. Be careful!

Got a call from someone named Shirley, and I just told her to shove it before hanging up.

Got a call from some recorded message with a woman called ‘Shirley’ saying my internet had been hacked from a few countries and it’s gonna get cut off. Sounded fishy so I just hung up straight away. (Seems like the same woman called another number too, if you check below.)
