Someone rang me claiming there was a security problem with my internet and said strangers were using my connection. They told me to check my Windows event log, and since it was full, they said a senior tech would deal with it. But when I asked what I was supposed to do, they just kept saying to follow instructions without explaining. I told them I was going to hang up and call TalkTalk myself to be safe, but they insisted it wasn’t necessary as they supposedly knew I was a customer. I told them I wasn’t, then they just ended the call.

They were saying they’d cut off my service and end the contract if I didn’t sort things out quickly.
