I got a call from a woman with a soft accent that sounded Indian, mentioning something about British Telecom. When I asked her to say it again, she just cut me off. I'm guessing it’s one of those overseas call centres pretending with a UK number. You can often hear a tiny pause at the start when it’s coming from abroad. Why do these places get to use British phone numbers like that? And what is British Telecom doing to stop people misusing their name like this?
