i just rang bt after getting this weird recorded message from some american woman. it’s definitely a dodgy scam. if it’s on your mobile, you can block the number straight away. but if you get it on your landline, dial 1572 then press option 1, and bt should block the caller for you. also, you can try getting help by emailing btihelp/home/scamsbt. bt warns not to press any numbers the recording tells you to, 'cos it’s all a trick to steal your money.

It’s definitely a scam! I keep getting this message from loads of different numbers, all from an American lady claiming to be from BT. She tells you to press buttons for more info or help, but don’t do it! Just block the caller straight away. I’ve been getting these calls on and off for ages, just yesterday it rang again from yet another number. Stay away from it!
