It appeared he had the impression that I was some sort of, well, complete idiot.

Claiming to be a BT technician, this bloke rang me up saying he'd spotted an issue with my internet speed. He asked me to be at my router so he could sort it out. When I quizzed this rather Indian-sounding chap about just getting to the point and handing over my bank details immediately, he took offence and seemed to think I was a right numpty!
