Got a call earlier today from someone wanting to know if I'd been in a crash. I said no, but mentioned my other half had been. They claimed to be the other party’s insurance and said they’d be sending some compensation. I told them the case was already with Carpenters Solicitors and to get in touch with them, then I ended the call. Barely a minute later, they called again, and I just repeated to ring Carpenters before hanging up once more. Absolutely dodgy, watch out for this kind of scam!

Has anyone else received calls from this number asking if you've been in an accident? It's a bit strange, feels like some sort of scam to me. Just wondering if anyone knows what this is about.

A woman called me saying she’s with a company dealing with accident claims. She told me the other person’s insurance has put aside some money - between £1000 and £3000 - for me because a car hit me from behind in the last few years, and apparently it wasn’t my fault. I ended up telling her I wasn’t interested in chasing any of that. This number has rung me before, but I’ve just let it go to voicemail.

This number called me again, claiming I was involved in a car crash as a passenger, which is totally untrue. During the first call, they told me it was a mistake in their records and promised to fix it. But since they rang me a second time with the same story, clearly they haven't sorted it out yet.
