6 yearsThis morning at precisely 9:07 am, I received a rather polished automated call informing me that my internet would be disconnected within the next 24 to 48 hours. Quite alarming, I must say! Interestingly enough, just an hour earlier, I had received another call from the number 01284 299 627, which eerily enough seemed to convey a similar message at 8:18 am. A quick search online revealed that this number is linked to HMRC, which raised my eyebrows. What’s puzzling is that both messages asserted that they had been attempting to get in touch with me. Quite misleading, if you ask me, as with the recent lockdowns and the loss of my wife in a tragic accident, I tend to keep to myself these days. At nearly 80 years of age, my outings are rather few and far between. If anyone needs to reach me, please do so at my mobile number, 07776 190 412, rather than the landline numbers the previous callers used.
