This morning at exactly 9:07 am I got a call from an automated voice saying my internet would be cut off within 24 to 48 hours. Just before that, at 8:18 am, I had another call from 01284 299 627 with a similar message. When I looked up that number online, it showed up as belonging to HMRC, which seemed odd.

Both calls claimed they’d been trying to reach me before, which isn’t true at all. Since the Covid lockdown and the recent passing of my wife in a car accident, I barely go anywhere - I’m nearly 80 after all and don’t get out much.

If anyone actually wants to get in touch, my mobile is 07776 190 412, not the landline these calls were using.
