Got a call from a bloke speaking with an Indian accent saying he was from British Gas, wanted to get my gas meter reading around 3:45 pm. Couldn't locate the tiny key for the cabinet door where our meter sits. I asked him to ring back after a couple of hours since I was tied up. Later on, the same guy phoned, but now he said he worked for EDF. Honestly, I’m baffled about what the police can do about these dodgy lot!

They claimed to be from Direct Energy Service. I asked for his personal number but he refused to give it. I warned him if he didn’t stop calling I’d contact the police. After that, thankfully, they didn’t ring again, but it took 4 calls before they finally backed off.
