7 yearsGot a call from an overseas call centre claiming to be the UK’s Telephone Preference Service. They called my work phone and kicked off by asking if I’d been getting nuisance calls. Even though I said ‘no’, the woman went on to tell me about this ‘new TPS service’ that supposedly blocks all unwanted calls. Then she called me by a name, but it was my late mum’s first name from back in 2013 - not mine. When I told her ‘the person you’re trying to reach has passed away!’, she just carried on with her pitch like she hadn’t heard a word. I ended the call and blocked the number straight away.
