I've had one of those dodgy phone calls claiming to be from HMRC. They ring up and make all sorts of threats, trying to pressure you into coughing up some cash. Absolute lowlifes, if you ask me!

Got a call from someone speaking in an American accent, saying they were from HMRC and threatening me with legal trouble if I didn’t reply. Definitely a scam - don’t ring them back. I’ve reported it to ActionFraud just to be safe.

Got a call from someone claiming to be British Gas, sounded like a lady with a proper British accent. She wanted me to verify my postcode, but I told her if she really was from British Gas, she should be able to tell me my direct debit amount. I reckon anyone could just ask the post office for a postcode anyway. She insisted she couldn’t talk more until I gave the postcode, but I wasn't having it, so I just ended the call.
