A woman with a synthetic American accent just rang me, claiming to be from British Telecom, warning that my internet broadband would be switched off shortly. I didn’t stay on the line to catch the full spiel, so I’m not entirely clear on what their scam entails. Just to note, I don’t even use BT for my broadband, by the way. This isn’t the first time I've received this kind of call in the past few weeks.
