Got a couple of missed calls today from this number. After a quick look, it turns out to be Sunny Day Loans. My phone number is pretty new, just assigned by SKY, and I know it hadn’t been used for ages before I got it - they usually recycle lines only after a good break to prevent people in debt from getting hounded after their service is cut. From what I’ve read elsewhere, Sunny Day Loans seem to use one of these automatic dialling systems that ring multiple numbers at once - like 10 calls all lined up together. Whoever answers first gets put through to a collector, while the rest don’t actually get connected to anything. I believe this kind of practice is now banned here in the UK. Plus, they’re calling from a Bury St. Edmunds number, which makes it seem even more dodgy. No clue who you’d report this to, maybe the Ombudsman or some regulator?
