Honestly, I’m pretty sure this is one of those fake numbers scammers often use. Better just to let it ring and not pick up. Since I got myself a call blocker, my phone barely gets any calls except from my family.

Today I got a third call from this number, but when I picked up and said hello, there was just silence. After a while, a recorded voice said goodbye and the call ended. Got a call from someone claiming to be BT Openreach saying my internet would cut off in an hour unless they got into my computer to sort it out. I rang BT myself and they told me it was a scam.

This number has called me four times now. The first call was about some work in my area and he asked me to switch off my laptop and unplug the TV, claiming it would be off for a week. I told him where to go and ended the call. He sounded like he was from India.

When I ask who they are or why they’re calling, they just end the call. I’ve reached out to my phone company about it, but even though I’m on the ex-directory list, they want to charge me 82p each month to block the number. It's a bit frustrating really.

These scammers managed to empty my bank account, but thankfully, my bank double-checked with me before transferring the money overseas.

I ended up making the mistake of doing exactly what they told me, and it nearly emptied my bank account! It’s really risky stuff. They somehow showed me a fake bank statement that looked like my bank had paid me some money. But if you look at it on a different device, like another laptop or your phone, you won’t see any of those payments. My bank later told me no such transactions ever happened. Luckily, they caught it just in time and stopped an overseas transfer before money left my account. It was a close call, honestly!

WATCH OUT! Got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying they were from BT Openreach. They mentioned an engineer doing work nearby and that my phone line was apparently on the wrong channel or something like that. They asked loads of strange questions and got really pushy when I didn’t answer straight away. After a few minutes, I figured it was dodgy and ended the call. It sounded pretty legit though since BT Openreach had actually been around my street lately!

On the 10th of May 2017, I got a call for the third time from someone trying to get info about my wireless router. After the second call, I reached out to my Broadband Provider who told me it was definitely a scam. I hung up right away and would not recommend answering if you get a call from that number. They mentioned they could block the number if it keeps harassing me. The person on the line spoke with an Indian accent, and it could be either a man or woman.

I’ve gotten a couple of calls from people saying they're with BT Openreach. When I told them I wasn’t able to help or didn’t know anything, they just cut the call. They spoke with a strong Indian accent or something similar. On a third call, they dropped the phone as soon as I answered. Totally sketchy if you ask me. Sounds like they're trying to trick you into letting them into your computer by saying there's a problem with your router, or about an engineer switching internet channels nearby. Definitely a scam to watch out for.

This number keeps ringing me non stop, like 2 or 3 calls every single day. They say they’re from Open Reach but it’s all rubbish, talking about needing access to my PC because of some nonsense about changes where I live and something about my internet being on the wrong channel. Total load of rubbish. They’re just tryna get into your computer remotely and steal your info, banking details, Amazon, eBay stuff, you name it. Stay well clear of these lot.

I've been getting calls non-stop from someone claiming to be with BT Openreach, saying I have to download some teamshare software. Just a heads up, don’t fall for it! Got a bloke with an Indian accent saying he was from Openreach, asking how many lights were on my broadband box. I told him I was actually in my car on a diverted call, which was true, and he said he’d call back - and he did. Before he rang again, I phoned Openreach myself because I thought he sounded dodgy, and they told me it’s likely a scam. So when he called back, I just repeated the same story. He’s called a few more times since then but I’ve just ignored him. Makes me wonder how many folks this tosser’s scammed. Honestly, the police should get involved!

Over the course of two days, I got calls from this number even though my phone is supposed to be unlisted. Both times, the callers were men with an Indian or Asian accent, which made understanding them quite difficult. They claimed to be from Openreach and said they were doing work in my neighbourhood, naming the area. They wanted me to count the lights on my router. I told the first guy I couldn't see them properly, and he just hung up on me. When the second bloke called, I asked him a couple of times if he was trying to sell me anything, but he didn’t respond and kept pressuring me to count the router lights. Frustrated, I ended the call and checked the number with 1471, which showed as 01284335632. Looks very much like a scam to me, so I’ll be telling friends and family to watch out for these suspicious calls.
