Beware! Do not follow their guidance. I had my bank account emptied by these individuals. Thankfully, my bank reached out to verify with me before transferring any funds overseas.

I ended up making the mistake of doing exactly what they told me, and it nearly emptied my bank account! It’s really risky stuff. They somehow showed me a fake bank statement that looked like my bank had paid me some money. But if you look at it on a different device, like another laptop or your phone, you won’t see any of those payments. My bank later told me no such transactions ever happened. Luckily, they caught it just in time and stopped an overseas transfer before money left my account. It was a close call, honestly!

WATCH OUT! Got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying they were from BT Openreach. They mentioned an engineer doing work nearby and that my phone line was apparently on the wrong channel or something like that. They asked loads of strange questions and got really pushy when I didn’t answer straight away. After a few minutes, I figured it was dodgy and ended the call. On the 10th of May 2017, I got a call for the third time from someone trying to get info about my wireless router. After the second call, I reached out to my Broadband Provider who told me it was definitely a scam. I hung up right away and would not recommend answering if you get a call from that number. They mentioned they could block the number if it keeps harassing me. The person on the line spoke with an Indian accent, and it could be either a man or woman.

I’ve gotten a couple of calls from people saying they're with BT Openreach. When I told them I wasn’t able to help or didn’t know anything, they just cut the call. They spoke with a strong Indian accent or something similar. On a third call, they dropped the phone as soon as I answered. Totally sketchy if you ask me. Sounds like they're trying to trick you into letting them into your computer by saying there's a problem with your router, or about an engineer switching internet channels nearby. Definitely a scam to watch out for.

They say they’re from Open Reach but it’s all rubbish, talking about needing access to my PC because of some nonsense about changes where I live and something about my internet being on the wrong channel. Total load of rubbish. They’re just tryna get into your computer remotely and steal your info, banking details, Amazon, eBay stuff, you name it. Stay well clear of these lot.

I've received numerous calls from this number, and it’s quite peculiar as the callers all seem to have Asian accents yet bear distinctly British names-quite the odd combination! The last couple even sported English last names! Got a bloke with an Indian accent saying he was from Openreach, asking how many lights were on my broadband box. I told him I was actually in my car on a diverted call, which was true, and he said he’d call back - and he did. Before he rang again, I phoned Openreach myself because I thought he sounded dodgy, and they told me it’s likely a scam. So when he called back, I just repeated the same story. I've had a couple of calls from this particular number on consecutive days, despite my phone being listed as ex-directory. Both calls were from chaps with accents that sounded Asian or Indian, which made it quite tough to follow what they were saying. They claimed to be from Openreach, mentioning some work supposedly taking place in my vicinity, which they specified. They requested that I count the lights on my router. When I said I couldn’t do that, the first bloke just hung up on me without warning. The second caller, when I quizzed him twice about whether he was trying to sell something, refused to reply and persisted in asking me to count those lights. I can only deduce that this is some sort of scam, and I'll be sure to inform my friends and family to keep an eye out for these nuisance callers.

How coincidental! We've been experiencing some issues with our broadband service, so it wasn't entirely unexpected when a chap claiming to be from BT Broadband rang us. His accent was quite heavy and the background noise was rather distracting. When we inquired about why he was calling from Bury St Edmunds-considering we’re located in the south-west-he was rather evasive with his response. He bombarded us with questions about how many lights were illuminated on our router and how many devices we had in our household. Ultimately, we decided to cut the conversation short by hanging up.
