I got a call from 01283927480 claiming to be HMRC from Burton-on-Trent, complete nonsense about tax stuff. The HMRC website is a nightmare for reporting these scams, really confusing. I had a tough time digging up a real HMRC number to actually speak to someone. After ages on hold, they just told me to reach out to the HMRC phishing team, which I’d already tried loads of times, but they just kept sending me back to the same useless website. No surprise people don’t trust the government when they can’t even sort something as simple as this!

Got a call from 01283927480, some dodgy yank pretending to be from HM Revenue. They kept going on about me owing money and said I could get sued if I didn’t call them back. How do these muppets even manage to make it look like they’re calling from the UK? Total joke.
