I got a call from a man with an Asian accent claiming to be from Microsoft, saying my computer had been compromised. He somehow knew my name and rang my landline. What made me suspicious was when he asked me to switch on my PC. I told him I was tied up and to ring back later. He got annoyed and started yelling it would only take a quick minute. I ended the call, but he rang back straight away. When I picked up again, no one said anything, but I could hear a busy office environment with lots of chatter in the background. Definitely a scam.
