I mentioned I’m quite elderly and wanted some proof or something to show it’s not a scam. Instead of calming me down, they ended up threatening to put me on a blacklist if I didn’t play along. It seems that Spark Solutions Ltd is reaching out, possibly through a phone company of sorts? I've noticed that the email they provided for opting out is a Gmail account. They called me to see if I was interested in upgrading my phone. Interestingly, I also received a message from EE asking about an upgrade shortly after I requested a PAC code last night. It feels like these might be interconnected... all this, despite the fact that I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service.

Received a dodgy call purporting to be from O2. Avoid at all costs!

I received a call claiming to be from Car Phone Warehouse, stating that O2 had passed on my number-quite frankly, I find that highly improbable. They claimed to be reaching out from London, yet the number I saw was from Burton on Trent. I can’t shake the feeling that it’s a dodgy overseas call centre masquerading as a London based operation. They even threw around the postcode of Carphone Warehouse’s headquarters in North Acton, insisting that’s where they were dialling from. But I've got my doubts; I know for a fact that outbound calls don't originate from there. Then they put me through to a supposed 'Manager' who seemed rather clueless about GDPR regulations and had no idea what a Subject Access Request is. Very fishy, to say the least.

I had no clue who was ringing or what they needed since I wasn’t waiting for any calls. I usually check the caller ID to decide whether to pick up or not. The number showed a place I’ve never heard of before (Burton-on-Trent), and to top it off, they didn’t bother to leave a voicemail or even say sorry for disturbing me. So honestly, I don’t see why I should waste my time or phone credit trying to get back to them.
