At 2:18pm on the 20th of December 2023, I got a call from 01283 585253. The call was a recorded message, one-off, supposedly from NatWest warning me about a transaction overseas. It wasn’t left on my voicemail or anything, just a single automated message. Strangely, the number seemed local to me, with only the last three digits different from my own phone number. Definitely not a genuine NatWest contact, so I ignored it and considered it suspicious.
