I received a call from someone purporting to be from the Microsoft support team. They insisted that there was a security concern on my device and requested remote access. Definitely sounds dodgy to me!

I got a call from someone calling himself Barry Allen, but he spoke with an asian accent and claimed to be from some tech support. He told me he was ringin' to see if my computer had some sort of insecure software slowing it down. When I asked if there’d be any cost, he said no charges if the issue was small or if my computer was fine. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

Some bloke called Arty Allen rang me and wanted to know what was on my screen. I just said "ocean," coz me desktop background is a beach scene. Then he was all like, "What else?" so I said "sand." Then he asked one more time and I said "blue sky." Next thing, he just ended the call. Strange guy.

I’ve started to spot some of those so-called Microsoft numbers from India. When they ring, I just say, “Good morning, fraud team here,” and the call usually ends within 5 seconds!

Got a call from some foreign number, the lady barely spoke any English and I had no clue what she was on about. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

Had a call earlier from someone claiming my laptop was riddled with viruses and they could fix it. When i told him straight up it was a scam, guess what? He just hung up on me. You’d imagine they’d let me have a proper go at telling them to quit ripping people off and find a real job! These scammers really are a pathetic lot. Tps, seriously, get on this! Check out the reviews on this site and do something about it.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent asking if “Mrs” [my surname] was home - mad, considering I’m single! When I asked who was on the line, he claimed to be “Peter from tech support”. Then tried to tell me it was something about my computer. I wasn’t having any of it, so just played along with “Oh yes, it is” and slammed the phone down. What worries me is that these scammers are now using legit UK numbers. It’s really starting to feel quite serious.
