Received a rather dubious phone call today from a chap alleging to be John from the Talktalk tech support team. He claimed that there was some nefarious individual attempting to gain access to my internet, and he asked if I could connect to my router for him to assist me. Despite his insistence on being John, his accent struck me as distinctly Asian, which set off alarm bells. I politely told him I would ring him back instead. Subsequently, I reached out to Talktalk directly, only to be informed that no such call had been made from their side, and they suspected it was likely a scammer. They've assured me they would look into the matter.

Had a dodgy call today from someone claiming to be with TalkTalk. They went on about some supposed problems with my modem and then urged me to install some kind of remote access program. Definitely a scam!

I received a call from a number I didn't recognise, but they didn't bother to leave a voicemail. I find that rather dodgy, so I've gone ahead and blocked them on my phone.
