After waiting 4 days for an engineer to turn up, which I had to pay for upfront, the legit subcontracted tech found the problem and said he'd ask for approval to order the needed parts. Another 4 days went by with me chasing them before 247 Home Rescue just rejected the claim because of costs. It's clear they never meant to pay out at all.
