I tried calling this number again, but nobody picked up.

I received a rather dubious call the other day from a chap named "Jack", who claimed to be with a TV repair insurance company. He was touting some sort of renewal on my television warranty. His accent was quite pronounced and definitely not local. When I politely declined his offer, he suddenly turned rather unpleasant and aggressive. Quite alarming, to be honest!

After repeating my question a couple of times, he still kept quiet. I called him a few rude names, and he snapped back telling me not to talk to him like that. I told him I never invited his call anyway. I made sure not to share my own name. Every time I asked where he was calling from, he got really annoyed. It was obvious right away he was just another scammer.

Got a phone call from some guy with a South Asian accent claiming to be Mark from Sparta Telecom, saying he could cut my phone bills by 60%. He wrongly thought my landline was with BT, but when I told him it wasn’t, he asked if I had a TV subscription or something. I quickly ended the conversation. Pretty clear he ignored the TPS register and had no clue my number wasn’t BT. This feels like dodgy spam, maybe even fraud or a scam.

Can you believe some folks still use those old phones without caller ID? It's true, they're out there. Luckily, I don’t have to deal with that because I got a phone that shows who's calling. If you’re still stuck with one of those ancient models, seriously, upgrade. It can save you loads of time and stress down the road!

Seriously, why bother dealing with these kinds of callers? Just don’t answer calls from numbers you don’t recognise. If they actually leave a voicemail, then you can decide what to do about it. It’s really straightforward if you ask me!

On 30/10/21, I got a call from someone saying they were from Sparta Communications offering to cut my broadband and phone bills with a supposedly better deal at £39.99 a month. It was an Asian woman at first, then her boss joined in after we spoke a bit. They kept asking about my current call rates, who I was with, and stuff like that. I had a quick look on Companies House and saw Sparta had been struck off last October, which made me think it’s a scam. I told them I’m on the TPS and don’t accept cold calls, then I ended the call.

On 30th Oct 2021, got a call from someone saying they were from Sparta Communications, claiming they could cut my costs on fibre broadband and phone calls with a deal at £39.99 a month. First, an Asian woman spoke to me, then a supervisor came on after a bit. They were asking loads about my current provider, how many calls I make, and what I pay. When I looked them up on Company House, Sparta had actually been removed last October. Smells like a scam to me. I told them I’m on the TPS list and shouldn’t be getting cold calls, then just ended the call.
