This number, 01282830286, rings me several times daily, usually about 3 or 4 times. When I pick up, no one talks, they just stay silent before hanging up. Other times, they let it ring out without leaving a voicemail, then call straight back. I’m really annoyed with these calls since I need my phone nearby for health reasons as I’m disabled. You can hear some chatter in the background but no one will actually speak to you. The accent sounds Asian, but the caller ID shows it as an international number. Would advise steering clear of this one.

This number has rung me 4 times over the past half day. The first couple of times I picked up, but all I got was silence before they suddenly hung up. The next two times I just let it ring out without me saying a word, again they just dropped the call. After seeing what others have said about this number, I've decided to block it. Last year, my elderly mum got calls like this and was tricked into handing over lots of personal info and even access to her computer. It took ages to sort everything out and make sure she was safe again.

I received a phone call from someone purporting to be from Microsoft, saying that my internet was supposedly being accessed by other individuals. I quickly mentioned that I'd be reaching out to BT, my broadband provider, to sort it out. After that, I hung up the phone. This took place on Saturday, 3rd October, at half past one in the afternoon.

Good day, I recently received a telephone call from the number mentioned earlier, with the caller purporting to be from Microsoft. He asserted that my computer was overloaded with data that was hindering its performance and proposed to remotely access my keyboard to rectify the issue. He began to instruct me on various steps to enable him to gain control of my keyboard, which immediately raised my suspicions. Consequently, I decided to terminate the call, which lasted for approximately six minutes. Best wishes, Geoffrey.

Had two calls in the last hour, both times just silence. Pretty sure it’s one of those auto pre-sale calls. You can tell by the way they act. I hope they’re ready for me telling them off when I answer next time.

Just a short while ago, my wife picked up a call from this number. Apparently, the person on the other end, a chap with a foreign accent, asserted he was from Microsoft-something Geoffrey mentioned too just a couple of hours prior. My wife, who has zero patience for cold callers or any dodgy-sounding antics, quickly caught on to the potential scam and firmly told him we don’t own a PC. Suddenly, the bloke started making these bizarre howling and squealing sounds! When she told him to clear off, he cheekily replied, "Same to you, madam!" before the call cut out.

I’m wondering where I should report this number and his ridiculous behaviour? Should I contact BT or Microsoft? How would I go about doing that? Any guidance would be appreciated!
