There was a recorded voice warning that my internet was about to be disconnected and said to press 1 to stop it or 2 to let it get cut off. I hit 1 and got connected to someone with an Indian accent who asked how they could assist me. I told them they’d called me first. Then she went on about my router showing error signals. I acted clueless and said I didn’t even have a router or internet. Then I told them they sounded like scammers. After that, they just hung up on me.7 yearsFraudsters posing as BT Internet representatives. I received a phone call, and it was one of those pre-recorded messages informing me that my internet service was on the verge of being terminated. They said to hit 1 to avoid this disaster or 2 to simply disconnect. Naturally, I pressed 1. Next thing I know, I was connected to someone with an accent that sounded Indian, who cheerily inquired how they could assist me! I pointed out that it was they who had initiated the call. She promptly began her spiel about my router supposedly broadcasting error prompts. I decided to feign ignorance, insisting I neither had a router nor any internet connection...
