This number is dodgy, the one that appears on my screen isn’t where they’re really calling from. It feels shady, best just to hang up and not share any details with them.

It was a woman with a strange foreign accent pretending to have an English name, saying she was from Virgin Media. I hung up straight away! Then about an hour later the same number called again. Didn’t bother answering this time but had a look and it was the same one.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media, offering an internet upgrade and a new modem. The woman had an accent that seemed Chinese, and she was clearly just reading from a script. Conclusion: Almost certainly a PHISHING SCAM. This number rang me up pretending to be from Virgin Media, saying they wanted to see if they could give me a better deal. They knew my name and had my mobile number. When they asked for the first line of my address, I thought it was suspicious (since they called me first), so I said I wasn't happy to continue. They said they'd leave a note on my account about the offer so I could ring Virgin Media Customer Services later. I did call Virgin to check, and they confirmed it was NOT a genuine call. Most likely a phishing attempt. DON'T RESPOND!

Yep, it's definitely Virgin Media. Just head over to their site and log in. Then click on my account > my preferences and opt out of their marketing. It can take about 28 days but they'll eventually stop ringing. If they carry on, write them a proper complaint about breaking your GDPR rights. Oh and btw, hope no one here backed Brexit, coz GDPR's from the EU! :)

Actually, these callers are really from Virgin Media, probably their Outbound Sales team based in Minworth or somewhere near. But honestly, they’re useless - they’ll tell you lies and promise offers that Virgin Media themselves won’t back up. I’m now taking legal action against them to sort this out.

At first I blocked the number coz of like 3 or 4 calls where it was dead silent. Phone never rang, just went straight to voicemail. Then it happened a couple more times, and just now some bloke, sounded foreign with a kinda young voice, was laughing and messing about, speaking some language I didn’t get. Most probably a scam. They said they were from Virgin Media. When I asked for a callback number, they first gave me 150, then changed it to 0245 454 1111, which doesn’t seem to be a real number.
