They ring me up two times each day, like it's on some kind of schedule. Whenever I try calling them back, there's never anyone picking up. Definitely not a genuine company behind this. Nowadays, proper banks usually get in touch by email or text with solid references, not just random phone calls. I swear, with everything going on, some people have zero shame and just mess around like this!

I’m pretty sure this number is being used by scammers pretending to be from Standard Bank. When I called Standard Bank using a number I found on their official website, I was told that they never ask customers to provide all the personal details this caller demanded. The genuine bank rep also mentioned they could explain the purpose of any call without needing me to share info first. So please, don’t give out your information. And definitely don’t ring the number they give you back. If you’re worried that Standard Bank is trying to contact you, look up their official number yourself and call them directly.

Earlier calls, they kept pushing me to give my ID, which I refused and was told they couldn’t talk to me without it. Today, the “Tester” guy said I owe money on a Standard Bank Card, which I actually cleared back in July. When I asked for proof of the supposed debt, he said I couldn’t get it by email or through their collection teams. I told him fine, go ahead and sue me then. Of course, the call just ended there. Honestly, something needs to be done to stop these nuisance calls.

Seems like one of those scams where they try to trick you into giving personal info. They rang me up claiming my mortgage was overdue, which was rubbish, and then wanted me to confirm my identity. Total nonsense.
