I got a call from this number saying they were from HMRC asking for my husband’s NI number and mine to check if we qualify for some tax rebate related to marriage allowance. Thing is, I never applied for anything like that, so how did they even find out about us? I quickly made an excuse and ended the call. It’s really risky for people who don’t know about these HMRC scams - if you give them your info, who knows what they’ll do with it.

I got a call from this number and said hello but nobody replied. I saw on another website that it’s some kind of HMRC warning about being arrested over debts and it’s been quite persistent with multiple calls from different numbers. It’s been quite stressful and I told the police about it cause it’s getting a bit threatening. I’d hate for anyone who’s more vulnerable to be targeted by these calls.
