I got a message from a recorded voice claiming it was from BT, saying my line had some kind of issue. Then it told me to press 1 if I was with BT or press 2 for other providers. I just ended the call because it felt off. If it really was BT, surely they'd know their own customers without asking. After checking this site, I've noticed plenty of numbers like this with automated messages trying to trick you into chatting so they can get into your computer or bank details. From what others say here, the best thing to do is to just hang up.
