01280875632 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01280875632 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance caller primarily targeting individuals and businesses who have recently registered domain names. Numerous users associate these calls with aggressive telemarketing tactics from overseas call centres, often based in India, selling web design or hosting services. The company involved appears to harvest publicly available contact details from domain registration (WHOIS) data when privacy protections are not enabled. Callers frequently hang up abruptly, remain silent on answer, or use prerecorded noise to simulate busy call centres. Many recipients describe the experience as intrusive, with repeated calls daily and no option for meaningful dialogue. While some report legitimate offers at low cost, the overwhelming consensus is to block these numbers, enable domain privacy, and avoid returning calls to prevent potential scams and ongoing harassment.

Got a call on my landline but they didnt leave any message, not gonna ring back since it’s an unwanted call and after checking out the info on this site. Cheers.

Like a lot of folks, I got a domain not long ago and I’m also signed up with the TPS. I’ve had calls from around 30 different numbers in the last couple of weeks, all for the same kinda stuff. My advice? Ask your domain registrar to put their contact info instead of yours on public listings.

They rang me while I was at school, which was really annoying. If you’ve got a domain, expect calls from these guys. Doesn’t seem like a scam though, just some business offers.

Yeah, they called me as well, but honestly it went quite well. I needed a website developer and found one right from home after just a quick phone chat, all at a really decent cost. I get why some are annoyed with these calls, but you gotta admit they can do quality work for a fair price. Cheers!

switch2web[###] / switch2web[###] They often ring from 0203 6709307 and fake numbers like 07700 900006 & 07988 8866566. The guy in charge, Sahbaz AKHTAR, also runs SECURE CALLS LTD & UNIPLUS TELECOM LTD, and used to be a director at PRECISE CONSUMER DATA LTD. So I reckon he knows full well the rules about bulk collecting WHOIS info and using it to cold call from dodgy numbers. Would be great if someone could find the time to report this to the ICO.

Just like everyone else has said, these annoying people keep calling trying to push pointless web services. They basically sift through WHOIS data from newly registered domains to grab phone numbers and emails to bother folks. I'd definitely recommend using WHOIS privacy protection if it's available, and also put down a throwaway email and a fake phone number when registering your domain. Saves a lot of hassle!

I received a rather strange call from someone inquiring about a chap named Robert - quite the mix-up since that’s definitely not me! Strangely enough, I recently bought a domain, which makes me wonder if there's a connection.

Hostgator: Big shoutout to the amazing support crew - you guys did a solid job blocking all those annoying spammers and hackers. I’m glad you let me buy “Privacy Protection,” which honestly anyone with half a brain would happily pay a few pence a day for, just to stop the constant barrage of abusive calls and emails every hour! P&L (means Peace & Love, not Profit & Loss for any daft ones reading this!) Cheers, Chris. P.S. To the even dafter folks: YES, I DEFINITELY prefer paying the “premium” to avoid getting spammed (the usual suspects, no less)!

Hostgator: It’s like trying to chat with the void sometimes, but if anyone actually sees this, please give it your best shot. Just remember, Hostgator has the chance to lead a new wave, ditching the silly short-term greedy mindset that risks a much better future for all of us. Otherwise, well, you know the alternative - that classic "end of times" scenario we’ve all seen in countless films, plays, tales, myths and prophecies. Fingers crossed, yeah?

I’m feeling really conflicted about even sticking with my Hostgator account. It used to get top marks in reviews, but if your company claims to be the cream of the crop, yet lets me get bombarded by the same annoying “usual suspects” - folks that any quick Google search shows up as spammers, hackers, or scammers - then maybe I’ll just wait it out and hope things get better. Or maybe it’s all just gonna go downhill from here!

I genuinely didn’t expect a highly rated hosting service like yours to have spam as the default setting - seriously, who’d want that? It’s just so unhelpful and stops progress altogether! I reckon this must be linked to buying a domain from HostGator. If you miss ticking some tiny box (honestly, not sure i even noticed it), they end up selling your info to the dodgiest spammers out there. I’ve had some rather unsavoury encounters with a firm called Web to Wealth, operating out of Mumbai. They seem rather fond of employing a multitude of different phone numbers to pester you. Even if you manage to block one, they promptly ring you from another, as though it's a game to them. The way they acquire your information is rather dubious; they’ve registered with the Whois directory for web domains and anytime someone buys a domain without opting for privacy, they swoop in and start bombarding you with calls, almost incessantly. Do keep your wits about you and refrain from sharing any banking or credit card information with them. That’s their game - getting hold of your funds even if you don't engage with their offerings. The noise from their call centre sounds suspiciously recorded, which is why it feels like they’re struggling to hear you. They crank it up to create the illusion of being a large, reputable firm. Just exercise extreme caution with this bunch...

This establishment, operating under the name Web to Wealth from Mumbai, employs an array of phone numbers. If you manage to block one, they'll simply ring you from another. Here’s their trick: they’ve registered with the Whois directory for web domains. Whenever anyone buys a domain without opting for privacy protection, they snag your information and bombard you with calls, relentlessly. Exercise caution-never share your bank or credit card particulars. That's how they can drain your finances, even if you don’t engage with any of their services or products. The persistent noise from their call centre is merely a recording, which explains why they seem to struggle with hearing you; they crank the volume up in a bid to create the illusion of being a large, reputable enterprise. Stay exceedingly vigilant around this lot!

I’d like to share my experience with a firm operating out of Mumbai called Web to Wealth. They seem to employ a multitude of different phone numbers to reach out to people. If you happen to block any of their numbers, they magically generate another one to ring you up. It’s quite alarming how they manage to get hold of your personal information. Apparently, they've registered with the whois directory for domain names, and whenever someone acquires a domain without opting for privacy protection, they swoop in to alert you incessantly as if it’s the end of the world. I can't stress enough the importance of keeping your bank and credit card information under wraps. This is precisely how they can siphon off your funds, even if you decide against using their products or services. You might also notice a lot of background noise that sounds like a bustling call centre - this is actually a recording, which might explain why they struggle to hear you. They crank up the volume to create the illusion of being a large, reputable enterprise. Please, do tread carefully when dealing with this lot!

No response, so I looked them up here.

Keeps ringing but never leaves a voicemail. Probably just some cold caller or a scam, best not to ring back. Cheers.

If you want to keep your details under wraps, you'll need to invest in domain privacy; otherwise, your information will be visible on public whois. That’s just how it is!

Could anyone enlighten me on the right number to dial in order to connect with this one? I'm looking for info regarding a package. Thanks!

Got a call from some callcentre selling website design services. Seems like GoDaddy, where I registered my domain, shared my number with this company to "offer" me deals for my new site.

I said hello a few times after I picked up but no one replied, then they just ended the call. It definitely sounded like it was coming from some call centre.

Spot on. I kinda suspected it was one of those dodgy spam calls, but after a few drinks, I answered pretendin it was a mate I hadn't spoken to in yonks. I really played it up, saying how great it was to hear his voice and how I'd been meanin to get in touch. The bloke got proper weirded out, and just ended the call sharpish - shame, might've ended up being best pals!

I seem to be receiving a call nearly every day from this number, but when I answer, there's nothing but silence on the other end. It started just after I purchased a domain name online. Quite odd, wouldn't you say?

Same here, they ring every day as soon as the domain gets signed up. I just put them on block immediately.

I've been receiving calls from this number at precisely the same hour each day, but the line goes silent when I answer. It’s utterly vexing! What makes it worse is when I try returning the call, there’s no response. So annoying!

Just received a call from a call centre, and it seems they're on a mission to improve websites. I genuinely wish them all the best! Here's hoping that all online platforms get an upgrade. Good luck to them on their quest!

A right pain, it's just incessant!

The thing is - domain registrations are public, so these lot call you up - pay attention - figure out if you’re easy to trick - then push stuff you probably don’t want or need. I reckon it’s a hidden premium number or something - not an expert on scams though. My advice? Treat these calls like a nuisance. Definitely dodgy. Just block ’em. @33watts

They keep ringing me non-stop, but luckily t####er flags it as spam so it's automatically blocked, yet they keep having a go (t####er does warn you!).

Its because of whois - all domain registrars info is public - they ring up, chat, try to figure out if your easy target - then push stuff you dont really want or need. Just block em. @33watts
