I've had this peculiar experience with a woman who clearly knows my name, yet has never introduced herself. After doing a bit of digging, I discovered that the number hails from Buckinghamshire, a place where I don't have any acquaintances. I’ve come to the conclusion that this number is likely a scam, so I've decided to block her. Nevertheless, I'm left puzzled as to how she managed to find out my name in the first place! 😡😡

Got a call from 01283152066, same prerecorded message like from 01286138216 about a couple hours earlier. Some American lady saying my TalkTalk broadband's gonna be disconnected soon. Been getting these calls on and off for 18 months now - total scam, don’t pick up or call back or you’ll probably be paying like £10 a minute. How come the regulators can’t block these idiots from using these STD numbers? Honestly, it’s beyond me. And with all the tech these days, why can’t they just track them down?? JC - York

Totally a scam, they were asking for someone called Nathan but that’s not me. When I said they’d got the wrong person, they tried saying it wasn’t a sales pitch. I just ended the call.
