Sounds like a classic hmre scam to me.

I never picked up, but this number dropped a voicemail that was clearly a load of rubbish, yet it still gave me the creeps. The message said something like 'brace yourself for consequences' if you don’t ring back or get your lawyer to call them. I reckon this would scare loads of folks, especially older or more vulnerable people. Really nasty behaviour.

got a call from some woman claiming to be from hmrc, saying i had to ring her back or i'd get into trouble with the law. sounds like the same old scam but they’re just using a different number now. it’s really scary so make sure you warn any older family or mates you know so they don’t fall for it. best thing is just to hang up and block the number straight away.

Got a call from some automated voice trying to pull a scam about home stuff. Definitely felt dodgy and like one of those hmre scams. Ignored it straight away.
